To complement Anthony Vaccarello’s Spring 2013 Collection, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux came up with soft metallics to reflect the water-inspired ensemble described as an almost futuristic military touch filled with metallic animal prints.
According to Pecheux, the idea was to “reflect the color of water hence a very fluid look, with an aqua, transparent feeling – like a reflection of water on the eyes.” His use of blue metallic eyeliner is an ode to the designer’s graphic concept.
Using new shadow paints and Kajal liner that will be available next year, the runway look plays on soft, cool with hints of shimmer on the eyes, paired with frosted pink tones on the lips – [ More Photos & Makeup Breakdown ]
I used a mix of periwinkle and gray, then topped with a metallic seafoam on the lids. I ulitilized a shimmery pink champagne to mimic that “melt-on” effect – Pechuex used a a pink metallic shade dabbed with gloss. I also drew a thin eyeliner on the top, and lower lashline was lined with the same blue-gray eyeshadow mix.
