A quick browse without any agenda, picked out the paperback and decided to purchase on a whim after running through the synopsis.

I made an impromptu spin on the Korean dish Japchae, using whatever is available in the kitchen. The agenda was to get the right seasoning to which I’d succeeded – 4 tablespoons of light soy sauce & 2-and-a-half tablespoons of sugar.
Ideally Dang Myun (glass noodles made with sweet potato starch) should be used; I only had Thai Vermicelli which was significantly thinner and when cooked, the noodles turned out soggy so that was rather disappointing.
The now-deceased cockroach flew through the window right before we hit the sack last night! While Mum & I were in panic mode, Milo got uber-excited and attempted to search for the damn thing. He spent 30 minutes looking at the wrong directions as the pest flew around the room, absolutely useless! But nearing the end, the boy saved the night by swooping down the low-flying vermin, and bit it to death! Bravo!
