Elizabeth Arden has introduced a flirty new scent which has inherited the iconic signature of Red Door, a symbol of glamor and luxury inspired by the famous Red Door Spa center.
While the 23-year-old scent symbolized the orientals of its time with sandalwood, orange flower, ylang-ylang and rose, the new Red Door Aura maintains the quality of the classic scent but with a lighter, fruit-tinged rethink of that formula.
Carlos Benaim, Elizabeth Arden Perfumer, was “constantly inspired by the women of New York City for their vibrancy and style.” Designed around this feeling luminosity which is the “Aura” of youth, hence the name, he envisioned this lively composition to convey feelings of joy, youthfulness, self-confidence and effortless beauty.
Red Door Aura opens with a fresh, fruitier introduction of Luscious Raspberry and Bergamot Lily; the heart maintains the timeless signature of Red Door with luminous additions of Orange Flower, Rose and Jasmine Petals; the drydown is a warm and creamy blend of Sandalwood, Amber and Musk.
Overall, the fruity essence is a reminiscent of the brand’s other fragrance Pretty Hot with its blend of citruses. Eventually when the EDT dries down, the sweet scent that remains on the skin smells like Vanilla, and lasted for 7-8 hours.
Thanks to the PR and social media team who meticulously handmade these key chains, I got to compose my own fragrance using an array of essential oils. Given my penchant for citrus, I obviously opted for a domineering blend of Orange Flower, Raspberry and Rose and dripped a drop or two onto the woven balls.
