Fruit Enzymes: Cheers To Good Health

Category: Beauty Talk, Skin Care

2 fortnights ago, I was in attendance for the presentation of La Mer‘s 5th Miracle offering – Moisturizing Soft Cream. Part of the program was an interactive session to mimic the bio-fermentation process that produced the unparalleled Miracle Broth™, an epidermal energy-charged concoction to enhance skin’s natural ability to regenerate and repair itself.

First things first, you want to be absolutely sure that the utensils and tools used have been sanitized. A little misshape will cause mold to form and the whole thing will be redundant. The things you will need are a chopping board, knife, glass bottle with an air-tight lid and tissues/cloth for hygienic purposes.

Same goes for all fruits used in this exercise, everything has to be 100% bacteria-free. You will require green and red apples, lemons as well as raw sugar.

Slice the fruits and layer them accordingly, starting from the bottom of the glass in this fashion – apples, sugar, lemons, sugar, apples, sugar, lemons etc. Make sure the last tiered item is sugar. Don’t fill it to the brim, leave some space for the ingredients to ferment. Store the bottle in a dry, clean and shady place.

After 4 weeks, strain away the dregs and make sure there’s no black mildews. Consider it a job well-done if the enzymes smell sweet. To be consumed once daily, mix 3 tablespoons of chilled enzymes(yes, you gotta keep in the fridge!) and mix into a glass of water.

9-days-old Enzymes

While lemons serve to kill germs, scientific studies have shown that apples contain Flavonoids and Polyphenols that not only prevent cancer but also rich with antioxidant benefits. Although effective in ridding toxins, slim down and relieve Qi, they carry neutral nutrition hence you have been cautioned to just consume once per day.
