The title derives from a song off Utada Hikaru‘s first Japanese album, ‘First Love.’ A fan since her debut, my favorite performance was taken from her Bohemian Summer Tour in 2000. The track talks of the protagonist, who falls into a sweet trap(甘いワナ ~) having been smitten by a charismatic stranger. The song also samples a line from the 1966′s ‘Paint It Black‘ by the Rolling Stones.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Tempting Melon
A Pink-Peachy shade that had me besotted right from the first swatch!

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color in Something New
First laid eyes on the perky Cherry shade at the La Perla event last June, it took me several trips to various Watsons outlets to finally get my hands on one! A pocket-friendly dupe to Dior‘s #558 Paradise. [ Swatch @ Swatchaholic ]

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color in Black Tie
A prismy multichrome that shifts between charcoal, turquoise and purple.

From Left – Something New; Black Tie & Tempting Melon

Another variant that I’d spotted in the last fortnight using the 2 Sally Hansen products.

Hi Joyce! I recently discovered your website but a silent reader. I like how you play up a song with this post. Very creative. Just want to say that :P
Aww, thanks Cammie! :)
Loving the Estee Lauder colour. *-* How do the Sally Hansen diamond strength ones hold up to their promise? I just tend to buy the Xtreme ones.
They barely chip after much wear and tear for a whole week! Looking forward to purchase more shades!
good to hear that! I’ve been wanted to try Sally Hansen for a while but only the recent ones look appealing
