The First Half – Favorites of 2012

Category: Beauty Picks, Make Up, Skin Care

Time sure flies as we bade farewell to the first 6 months of 2012. Listed are the following that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend anyone to check them out on your next shopping urge☆

Clarins Whitening Velvet Emulsion (w/o SPF) – Product Write-Up // REVIEW
StriVectin-WH Photo-White Day Lotion SPF 30Product Write-Up // REVIEW

PERFECT COMBO I’ve found the dream team between the Clarins & StriVectin products where the former takes care of hydrating my skin while the latter shields against UV rays. Utilized together, I feel like my skin can breathe better, for it it feels exceptionally supple and seems to amp up the oil-control brigade. The Photo-White Lotion also leaves a matte finish that enables primer and foundation to go on better.

Kéraskin Esthetics Derma-Morphose Damage Repair SerumProduct Write-Up
With the Kéraskin serum, I’ve definitely seen visible improvements within the initial days of usage, leaving me in awe of its efficacy. Similar with Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair, it instantly tightens the skin whilst repairing the epidermis and encourage collagen production. Look out for an in-depth review in the next few weeks, and I’m still looking into replacing it with the ANR for my night regime.

Eve Lom Rescue MaskProduct Write-Up
A recent purchase that I’m been religiously using every few days for maintenance. This clay-based mask hydrates the skin, and a warm sensation can be felt at times which I assumed is from key ingredient Camphor that stimulates blood flow and treats blemishes.

SexyLook Rejuvenating Duo Lifting MasksBird Nest X Caviar
I have tried at least 4 different brands of “Bird Nest” facial masks and this particular one keeps me coming back for more. Manufactured in Taiwan, the fabrics come with “up lift hooks” that not only ensure your neck receive the same nutrition but also gives that lifting effect by pulling it upwards to secure the “hooks” onto your ears.

Clarins UV PLUS HP in BeigeProduct Write-Up
Currently in my 2nd bottle, the beige-tinted UV Protector provides the skin with utmost protection against the sun and other harmful external factors. An excellent substitute for regular foundations with its light, non-oily formula; sheer coverage evens out skin tone well.

Becca Luminous Skin Color Ultra-Sheer Foundation in Cashmere
This tinted moisturizer from Becca, I would say the liquid version of Sheer Stick Foundation, has a sheer coverage that efficiently evens out skin tone and gives the skin a dewy finish. Comes with an airless pump to maintain freshness of the product up till the very last drop!

Revlon PhotoReady™ Concealer in Light Medium
Extremely creamy with medium coverage, it doesn’t cake on dehydrated areas such as my undereyes and around my nose.

Everyday Minerals Multi-Tasking Concealer
A wearable beige that not only brightens but corrects the terrible bruises under my eyes, Will definitely purchase a full-size jar after finishing this sample.

Chacott Setting PowdersREVIEW
Finely-milled powders that keep sebum control in check, what more could one ask for? I’m currently loving the combo of Paul & Joe Beaute Protective Fluid Foundation N and the Finishing Powder(black lid), leaving my skin looking natural with that soft-focus finish.

DiorSkin Poudre Shimmer in Diamant AmbréProduct Write-Up
RMK 15 Anniversary Cheek Palette in Brown Beige – Product Write-Up
Bronzers OverviewSwatches & Comparisons

My sensiblest purchase so far, there aren’t enough adjectives to describe how stunning Dior’s Shimmer Powder is. RMK’s gives more of a sheen sans glitters, and imparts a natural warm glow to the complexion.

Swarovski Collection Mariage Eau de ToiletteProduct Write-Up
Salvatore Ferragamo SignorinaProduct Write-Up

DAY Swarovski’s second feminine fragrance appeals to the modern women who seeks to be shrouded in bliss with its sparkling mix of lychee and subtle bouquet of florals.

DAY/NIGHT The sweet and alluring Signorina never fails to make me feel girly. Its luscious fusion of florals and fruits brings out a warm tingling in my tummy and doesn’t empower my sensitive nose throughout the day.

    Hi atelier
you mentioned u like the combination of Paul and Joe protective fluid foundation with Chacott loose powder but wonder why the fluid foundation is not listed under this list of favorite of 2012?

Hi Tiffany! The foundation has been sadly neglected since my purchase(whoopsie!) but I’ve started using it again last week(together with the Finishing Powder). I’ll be reviewing and comparing with the Clarins Beige-tinted UV Protector soon. Look out for it in the coming entries. Thanks for reading!
