ORIGINS VitaZing™ BB SPF 35/PA+++ Revitalizing Cream with Mangosteen

Category: Make Up, Product Reviews, Product Write-Up

ORIGINS VitaZing™ BB SPF 35/PA+++ Revitalizing Cream with Mangosteen (S$60) is packed with naturally-derived ingredients, offering 8 amazing benefits in 1 lightweight, oil-free formula. It’s rather similar with the VitaZing™ SPF15 Energy-Boosting Moisturizer that develops a slight tint to even out the skin tone.

CLINICALLY PROVEN RESULTS – immediate and long term
※ improves radiance, eliminating surface dullness and restore skin’s natural glow
※ immediately reduces appearance of pores
※ oil-free formula to regulate sebum production over time
※ hydrates the skin
※ provides a broad spectrum of SPF protection
※ immediately minimizes shine
※ antioxidant protection providing complete defense against aging
※ reduces visible signs of fine lines and wrinkles

This 8-in-1 wonder cream features a blend of mineral pigments and plant actives – Scutellaria; Apple & Cucumber that not only instantly creates a smooth skin surface, but also long-term skincare benefits, as well as a broad spectrum of SPF protection.

The key component is the Mangosteen Energy Complex, a fusion of Mangosteen, Cordyceps Mushroom and Ginseng that optimizes cellular energy and limits the release of free radicals to keep skin looking healthy and radiant.

Other fundamental ingredients include Mango Seed Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trehalose to provide intense hydration; oil-controlling ingredients Silica and Laminaria Extracts to regulate sebum production; extracts of Barley & Wheat Germ to protect and repair skin barrier; presence of essential oil blend of Grapefruit, Bitter Almond, Rose & Field Mint.

Available in 2 shades – Light Cool (pink undertone) & Light Warm (yellow undertone)

I’ve gotten this in Light Cool; it’s dispensed in a pale salmon cream that gradually adjusts itself to my skin color, developing a slightly darker tint in my case. Nonetheless I find it melds into the skin rather naturally and leaves no demarcation.

Complexion is immediately brightened without a greige cast. As to be expected, coverage is sheer and one could get away with it as an everyday light foundation. Although formulated with several herbs, VitaZing smells vaguely of said ingredients.

Despite its claims, sebum control is mediocre – with Singapore’s humidity, my skin would start to shine while doing my makeup and sadly VitaZing™ ain’t helping with the situation.

Compared with Rachel K CC Cream in Neutral, the latter gives a semi-matte finish.

While most BB creams have that semi-paste consistency, VitaZing™ goes on like a moisturizer albeit rather dry. VitaZing™ also perfects the surface texture hence skin appears uniform and smooth, however it cakes quickly due to the weather.

I always make sure my skin is prepped with a hydrating base before makeup – Origins’ Drink Up™ Intensive may be a sleeping mask but works extremely well as a moisturizer. Silicone-based primers don’t make flattering companions either as it only serves to absorb moisture out of the BB Cream.

Bottomline: I like the product enough for everyday wear, although its hydration level could be improved upon.
