A preview was held last week for a handful of beauty insiders before BECCA makes her official splash later this month. Steven Schapera, the business force behind the cosmetics brand’s phenomenal international success, especially flew in town to share BECCA’s philosophy and vision.
The founding of the brand stemmed from Rebecca Morrice Williams’ identification of the shortcomings(inability to conceal skin imperfections and long lasting wear) offered by established brands, and constant frustration from seeing women wearing the wrong foundation shades against their skin tones.

The mere desire to find the perfect foundation to achieve flawless-looking skin has led to an extensive product development that has resulted the ultimate range of skin-perfecting products to help women achieve natural flawless and beautiful looks effortlessly.

BECCA beauty is akin to the Little Black Dress; a fundamental frock in every woman’s wardrobe that spells classic, elegant and timeless. This can be easily achievable through the 3-Step Skin Perfecting Makeup System that allows women -regardless of age and ethnicity- to experience their natural beauty through Correcting, Perfecting and Enhancing. By the end of it, you want to look well-rested with a healthy glow, like you’ve just got back from a vacation.

The complete BECCA range pivots on the 34 shades of concealers and over 30 shades of foundations, they cater to every skin tone from the lightest Norwegian to the darkest African, and every color in between. The formulation is especially applaudable with its set of complex technologies that is still difficult to mimic by rivaling brands, take the Shimmering Skin Perfector for instance.

In the coming days, I will be covering more BECCA products and their new multi-use handcrafted brushes. [ More Eye-Candy @ FaceBook ]

I’ve already set my sights on the Luminous Skin Color and Stick Foundation while getting a feel of the galore of products after the presentation, and makeup demo by Lisa Pemberton, BECCA International Makeup Artist. The consistency is lightweight as often emphasized, yet provide a buildable coverage that most women would appreciate.
Enriched with rich vitamins that nourish the skin, BECCA Cosmetics are light on the skin thus allowing the skin to breathe and preventing pores from clogging. Again, women with acne-prone skin will want to give the base products a try.

I will also be sharing my opinions on the products received in my press kit – Retractable Kabuki Make-up Brush #63; Mineral Powder Foundation in Dream – my main gripe is the rubbery compact that might not be favorable for our tropical climate. You’ll probably know what I’m talking about if you own NARS blushes; Beach Tint in Grapefruit – this was the very first product I’d picked up at the preview to swatch and fell in love with it instantly. It smelled exactly like the fruit, and the pale coral pink is the kind of shade I normally go for. The color is similar to the HOURGLASS AURA Cheek & Lip Stains, minus the shimmer & metallic finish respectively.

I love that Kabuki brush and carry it in my bag every day for touch ups. The Beach Tints are also excellent for that natural, healthy flush of colour.
You might not like the feel of the compact, especially since you detest NARS’ packaging.
I want to try their foundations!!!
Me too! =)

How much is the Luminous Skin Colour? Hello and Thank You :)
Hi Sandy, it retails for S$75
hi Joyce,
thanks for the pics.
I am thinking to get the becca cheekstains. have you tried them before?
Are you referring to the Beach Tints? The formula is quite liquid so at least it spreads evenly and quickly.
