NEW IN MARCH – StriVectin-WH Photo-White Skin Care

Category: Events & Launches, Product Write-Up, Skin Care

Last week I had the privilege to preview StriVectin‘s newest range of whitening products. Held at Hotel Fort Canning, the session took place at a separate entity from the hotel to which I referred as “The Pool House.”

The brand recently went through a revamp; their products have been re-formulated to include the patented niacin molecule that rebuilds to repair skin damage, and is said to be efficient in diminishing wrinkles and discoloration whilst improving the overall appearance of the skin.

The new formulation also includes Peptides encourage 4X the “production of multiple forms of higher quality collagen, and 10 other key ingredients comprising of botanicals, ceramides, antioxidants and moisturizers to “enhance firmness, protect skin quality and redensify skin’s texture.”

Like various whitening products, the StriVectin-WH Photo-White range is developed for women experiencing facial discoloration problems however the spotlight is on their proprietary NIA-114 technology, first discovered through cancer prevention research.

This ingredient is delivered through the cells to stimulate DNA repair and promotes the release of leption, a natural repair hormone. It also targets the triggers that cause hyperpigmentation by “normalizing the transfer of pigments, as well as enhancing energy metabolism and skin cell turnover. It has also been clinically proven to be “6X more effective than brightening actives alone in just 4 weeks.”

Other key ingredients:
■ Natural Tyrosinase Inhibitors, Vitamin C and Synovea Skin Brightener help to regulate melanin formation, the source of our discoloration problems.
Vitamin C, a strong antioxidant that diminishes melanin production, reduces existing melanin and stimulates collagen.
Willowbark Extract, a natural form of salicylic acid that generates cell turnover to shed pigmented cells and improve skin texture.
Betaine, from Sugar Beet, is a natural skin softener that minimizes transepidermal water loss (TEWL; quantity of water that passes from the body through the skin’s epidermal layer) for healthier complexion.
Pomegranate Extract, a powerful antioxidant that enhances cell turnover.

StriVectin-WH Photo-White Day Lotion SPF 30S$115

These 3 products will be exclusively launched at Sephora from March 2012, and will be available at Metro Paragon, Escentials at TANGS Orchard and Robinsons from April 2012. The StriVectin-WH Photo-White Night Cream will also be available 2 months later.

I was also given a travel-trio set comprising of the Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks & Wrinkles, Overnight Facial Resurfacing Serum and Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles. Previously there was a lack of reviews that deterred me from taking a plunge into the eye cream, so I’m rather intrigued on how this product will fare.

Im looking forward to read the reviews about these products too, especially about the Photo-White Day Lotion SPF30 and the Photo-White Booster Serum. Im searching for a new daily moisturizer and a sunscreen to pair with it. This one has a high SPF and its a lotion, so could be something I want to try out. But it is on a pricier side!!

Hi Helen, StriVectin leans more to high-end, thus the price range. I’m currently using both products for day, and the lotion is rather impressive. Most products that’s inclusive of SPF are generally thicker and slightly greasy but this one literally melts and leaves my skin feeling soft.

In the meantime, try and get a feel of the cream at Sephora :)
