Communicating the desire for beautiful skin across all ethnicities with Estée Lauder’s spokesmodels: Joan Smalls, Constance Jablonski, and Liu Wen
Discoloration, discernible when light is not reflected uniformly on skin’s surface, can be caused by a variety of factors such as dullness, blotchiness, genetics and environmental assaults. Estée Lauder introduces the Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator(S$100-30ml / S$150-50ml), a fast-acting serum leveraged on “nearly 30 years of skincare repair authority” that refines skin’s tone and texture, and dramatically reduces the look of uneven skintone.
This intensive, oil-free serum features powerful technologies to address every key signs of unevenness:
■ Triple-Optic Technology – instantly illuminates the skin
■ CorrectTone Technology – a triple-action complex comprising anti-oxidants and soothing anti-irritants to address discoloration
The serum also utilizes Gulcosamine, a signature ingredient that was first incorporated into the Idealist Skin Refinisher in 2001. The sugar-derived component, also a water-binding agent, is said to be effective for wound healing. Its main function is to eradicate bonds that hold dead skin cells to the surface, whilst gentle enough for everyday use.

Packaged in a classy, sturdy bottle with a dispensing pump, the product is a light fluid that adds an illuminating, subtle golden shimmer on the skin. The inclusion of Polysilicone-11 leaves a velvety feel on the skin and depending on the weather, I could skip moisturizer and slap on sunscreen and makeup. As I’d mention in a prior entry, silicone textures sit really well with my combination skin type, and makes a good base for makeup too!

3 key factors leading to visible dark circles and puffiness: lack of micro-circulation/weak capillary structure, hyperpigmentation and Irritation. The Eye Illuminator employs the same advanced optical technologies, however the levels of optics have been carefully balanced to accommodate the delicate skin around the eyes.
An exclusive, highly-concentrated Dark Circle Correcting Complex(Ascorbyl Glucoside (Vitamin C) and Botanical Extracts) helps reduce and prevent the formation of dark circles. Soothing Extracts of Sea Algae, Caffeine and Sucrose work in synergy to minimize visible irritation and puffiness.

The Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator(S$90) is offered in 2 shades, Light/Medium and Medium/Deep, to cater all skin tones. The one I have on hand is obviously the former, and is similar with the serum, but with a slightly thicker consistency. The prominent gold particles leave a subtle radiance without being shimmery. It can be used alone or under concealer.

It also features the first ever patent-pending specially-contoured, cooling ceramic tip applicator, gently massages and delivers a cool, refreshing sensation while re-energizing the appearance of fatigue, puffy eyes. The applicator activates the Pinoxide and Magnolia Extract to optimize natural natural micro-circulation.
Application is a breeze as you squeeze out an appropriate amount and spread around your eyes using the applicator, moving it along the contours of your eyes until your skin absorbs the product. This is definitely more convenient, especially if you travel a lot, unlike the silver-tipped applicators that are kept separately from LA MER‘s eye creams. However, one thing I dislike with the packaging is that you have to be constantly cautious when opening and closing the product – an accidental squeeze will result in a mess within the cap.

I’m keeping weekly tabs on my skin, and will have follow up with a review of the products in a month’s time. [ FULL REVIEW ]

I’m growing to love the Idealist serum. I’ve been working through a few samples of the serum that were given to me by friends I have who work for Estee Lauder. I am planning on buying a full-size eventually.
i’m intrigued how the eye illuminator will work on you, my dark circles makes me look like panda T_T
Are those products available yet???? Thanks!
Hi Pam. You may find these products at all Estee Lauder counters (:
The serum works great for my skin, hope to hear good news from you too! Love your presentation!
The serum gives my skin a nice soft-focus effect and I like the shimmer don’t make me look like a disco ball. A nice, subtle radiance! I’ve never given the eye illuminator a try, so I might ask my BA for a sample and see how I like it. Lovely post!
