Who could forget that classic scene from When Harry Met Sally which was built upon an argument about the man’s inability to recognize a woman faking an orgasm, which led Meg Ryan’s character to prove her point:
Orgasm – the peak of sexual excitement; a similar point of intensity of emotional excitement
When experiencing that adrenalin-rush after, ahem, that, warm, oxygenated blood rushes to the surface to radiate off heat, resulting in flushed cheeks. The same concept applies after a workout where your face turns beet red – something that I’ve come to get acquainted with after numerous trips to the park with Milo.

Say if an occasion arises for a reenactment, you can further convince your dinner date, not just with a stellar performance that may or may not win you an Acting nod, but also complete with an O-Glow that is easily achievable with makeup!

NARS Blush in Orgasm
Probably the first brand that people would think of, to re-create those flushed cheeks. To date, this cult classic has garnered numerous accolades from beauty publications and raved by makeup artists - Orgasm -peachy-pink with accents of gold shimmers- is said to be universally-flattering for all skin tones. Plus the mirror-embedded compact fits into your bag that one can touch up that O-Glow all day and night long.

SLEEK Blush in Rose Gold
A London-based brand that delivers fine-quality products at affordable pricing; Rose Gold is often compared to, but cost a fraction of Orgasm. The one flaw with the latter is that you’ll pick up more gold shimmers than the pigment itself; whereas in the case of this sleek(pun intended) blush, you get a nice balance of coral-pink shade with a gorgeous golden sheen.
Most of us have too many blushes for our own good, not that we should be complaining! Rose Gold works excellent as a layering tool to give more “oomph” dimension to your cheeks. The shade itself is flattering on most shades, and imparts a nice golden glow to make your features stand out, especially at evening gatherings.

ELIZABETH ARDEN Mineral Cheekcolor in Rosy Glow
The blush looks a dull mauve from the pan but reveals a lovely rouge with subdued gold particles when swatched. “Subdued” as opposed to Orgasm‘s sharp gold flecks. The texture may be chalky, but the resulting color is gorgeous enough to overlook its flaw.

NARS Blush in Deep Throat

Here’s an example of that O-Glow in which I’d layered Arden’s Rosy Glow over NARS Deep Throat. Now go find your own blush combination to re-create those flushed cheeks, or pinch them before layering over with a highlighter. The possibilities are endless☆
