Last evening I was in attendance at a LANCOME presentation of their Hypnose Precious Cells mascara. I have been feeling rather fatigued lately and decided to go with a look that doesn’t requires much effort.

Face:

CLARINS Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate
ESTEE LAUDER Double Wear Maximum Cover
CANMAKE Marshmallow Finish Powder

I apply the Instant Smooth Concentrate mainly on problematic areas such as my undereyes where lines are prominent, and also my laugh lines. It really makes a huge difference, if you want to look perfect in photographs. The soft focus pigments create an optical distraction to minimize your flaws.

For those who are using the Double Wear Maximum Cover, regardless as a foundation or concealer, please use a good primer beforehand, preferably something hydrating or silicone-based. The dry formula “cracks” under my lines shortly after setting with powder, forcing me to re-apply my makeup.

The Marshmallow Finish Powder proves to be a disappointment; while it gives a smooth and soft-focus finishing to my complexion, the oil-controlling properties just don’t quite cut it.

I have been turning to Pulp Fiction pretty often, because of the convenience to create smoky eyes seamlessly easy. Just dab it on, and blend blend blend. Still testing the “pressure theory,” I used my fingers this time which minimizes the shimmers whilst maintaining that metallic finish. The pewter shade remains prominent though there were subtle hints of taupe, sadly not captured well on camera.

Cheeks and Lips:

While many raved over NARS Orgasm for that flustered look, Rosy Glow is a softer version that looks more natural on the cheeks. I appreciate the lack of gold flecks, unlike in Orgasm as they tend to emphasize the oiliness throughout the day.
