L’ORÉAL PARIS Summer Collection [Image-Heavy]

Category: Make Up, Product Write-Up

L’ORÉAL Singapore recently sent me a collection of eyeshadow quads and lip glosses that were specially created for Summer. These Limited Edition products will be available only for the month of July 2011, so get on your marks, avid makeup junkies!

The Summer 2011 Collection comprises of 2 Open Eyes Pro shadow quads that employs a “wet process technology to compress the color pigments” for high color intensity, and 4 new shades of Glam Shine 6H newly-improved glosses that provides “6 hours of intense shine with ultimate comfort and non-stickiness.”

4 shades are introduced for the sizzling summer; the colors are on the sheer side to make way for more emphasis on the eyes. The “Glam Shine” aspect is pretty much spot on with decent shiny particles without looking like a disco ball. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the formula. They are far too tacky, and felt heavy once settled even with just a layer on. The product leaves a flimsy layer when wiped out, subsequently drying out my lips.

L’OREAL Glam Shine 6HROSYPOP
The sheerest of the bunch, Rosypop is a petal-pink shade.

L’OREAL Glam Shine 6HLOLLIPOP
A light fuchsia color.

L’OREAL Glam Shine 6HCORALICIOUS
Being a coral fiend, this is easily my favorite out of the four.

If you are not daring enough to go with full, red lips, the sheerness makes a nice alternative.

Inspired by the season of bright colors, 2 different looks were created:

Fresh n’ Sweet for the day in the sunBe the ultimate summer goddess with Open Eyes Pro in Pink Maniac, matching it with Glam Shine 6H in #442 RosyPop or #110 Coralicious. Breeze through the day with these colors that will complement your white flowy sundress, floral scarf and strappy sandals as you take a walk down the beach. This look will bring you through the day looking effortlessly fresh and sweet. Complete the look with Superliner Felt liner black for a discrete finish on the eye contour, White Perfect Pearl Two-way Powder Foundation and True Match Blush in #01 Pink Marshmallow for a sun-kissed glow.

Bright n’ Bold for the night outGo daringly chic by wearing our Open Eyes Pro in Fanatic Olive paired Superliner in Black and with Glam Shine 6H in #V5 Iredsistible and #416 Lollipink. Draw attention with these colors, and look every bit of the glamour queen. Dress up in your best beach party dress in safari prints, put on the latest Ibiza music and dance the night away with a mojito in hand. Complete the look with a nude liquid foundation, like True Match Liquid Foundation and True Match Blush in #02 Rosy Cheeks.

I first applied the bronze shade on the inner and outer corners, and filled the middle using the gold color before lining with the dark brown. The glittery white adds sparkles to the mid-section, I was hesitant to use because the texture is annoyingly chalky.

These 2 palettes are regular editions which are still available, I believe there’s another 2 in shades of plums and purples, if you’re interested in getting any.

While the highlighters in the Summer collection are frustratingly chalky AND DRY, the ones in these regular quads are finer with a nice golden sheen.

Lastly, I apologize for the image-heavy post, for this long-windedness tendency got the better of me. I normally use alphabets to organize my pictures for each post, but this is the first time that I’ve run out of ABCs to use, haha!
