I had received an invitation back in March from SK-II – it was a Cocktail Event extended to their members where we were to be treated with door gifts, exclusive deals and delectable canapes. After dolling myself up, I headed to the reception counter to receive my door gift after registering with my Crystal Club membership “sticker paper.”
The event felt nothing like a cocktail party; there was no mingling, and the canapes were chuck at one corner, untouched. People promptly made for the exit after collecting their SK-II bag. I was keen in checking out the Cellumination Mask-In Lotion and Skin Signature Cream but the staff paid me no attention. So I left and proceeded for some retail therapy at the CLARINS counters and Sephora instead. And it amuses me that SK-II provided such a big bag that contains only these 2 samples.
SK-II Cellumination Essence
This hydrating serum imparts luminosity to the skin by refining the surface and contains concentrated Pitera that boost the overall complexion while diminishing the appearance of dark spots. The fermented yeast smell of the Pitera is noticeably absent, which some might find it unbearable in the Facial Treatment Essence.
SK-II Cellumination Deep Surge
A moisturizer that complements the Cellumination Essence and expedites the brightening effect, it contains the same illuminating properties that brightens skin tone and texture and improves pigmentation concerns. Described as a heavy duty for night use, the jelly-like cream does not share the same thick consistency as many night products. It sinks into the skin almost immediately but I felt it’s more suitable as a day moisturizer. It’s not as hydrating as I would like in a night cream.
I have not implemented these 2 products into my skincare routine yet, as I’m still in the midst of observing the CLARINS Night Cream, which melts into my skin like butter despite its consistency.
